Play Spider Mahjong Solitaire Online
Dismantle the 8 radiating legs and tiered carapace of the giant arachnid web.
đˇī¸ The Spider Layout Architecture & Strategy
The Spider is an aggressive and visually striking 144-tile Mahjong Solitaire board. Eight multi-jointed legs radiate outward from a dense, layered thorax and high-peaked abdomen dome. The layout demands precise tactical play to prevent outer leg roots from becoming trapped.
Like all classic Shanghai puzzles, the objective is to clear all 144 tiles by pairing identical free tiles. A tile is free when it has no tile resting on top and has at least one open lateral edge (left or right).
đ Top Tactics for Conquering the Spider
1. Trim the 8 Radiating Legs Early
Each leg stretches 6 tiles outward along stepped diagonals. Clearing outer leg tiles is essential to prevent horizontal pinches and open the flanks of the central body.
2. Attack the Thoracic Shoulder Joints
Where the 8 legs attach to the central body (the shoulder joints at Layer 1), tiles create heavy blockages. Unlocking these joints early grants access to the core tiers.
3. Expose the Abdomen Dome
The rear abdomen rises into a rounded dome up to Layer 4. Steadily peel tiles from the highest elevation downwards to reveal fresh free edges.
4. Guard Against Leg Asymmetry
Don't clear all four left legs while ignoring the right side. Balanced dismantling keeps matching opportunities evenly distributed across both halves of the board.
