Follow the serpentine spine, curving claws, and fiery pearl crest of the imperial Chinese Dragon.
đ The Dragon Layout: Imperial Curves & Tactics
In traditional Chinese mythology, the Dragon represents strength, wisdom, and good fortune. The Dragon layout captures this majestic creature with a sweeping serpentine spine that coils across the board, accented by elevated horned brows, outstretched claws, and high-tier pearl pinnacles.
Like all classic Shanghai puzzles, the objective is to clear all 144 tiles by pairing identical free tiles. A tile is free when it has no tile resting on top and has at least one open lateral edge (left or right).
đ Dragon Tamer: 4 Rules to Avoid Bottlenecks
1. Free the Dragon's Head and Snout
The head at the top-left contains multiple overlapping tiers. Matching the dragon's horns and brow tiles early opens the upper body arch.
2. Break the S-Curve Bottlenecks
Because the dragon's body curves through tight loops, tiles at the inner bends can be trapped between preceding and following segments. Prioritize unblocking inner curves.
3. Clear the Outstretched Claws
The claws extend out from the main body. Their tips are naturally free at the start of the game, making them great candidates for quick opening matches.
4. Preserve Matching Partners for Elevated Scales
The dorsal ridge scales sit atop layers z=1, 2, and 3. Whenever you identify a pair that unlocks an elevated scale, take it immediately.
